Aratoi Fellowship Residence

• Applicants should complete the general residency form to the left and submit it via email, marked Aratoi Fellowship, to newpacificstudio@xtra.co.nz by August 31, 2011. Results will be announced by September 15.


• $1,000 will be available for this residency (total of 4 weeks residency @ $250 pw, awarded to a single person or to multiple holders).


• The Fellowship is open to New Zealand-based visual artists and writers (including historians), working either individually or on a collaborative project.


• The initial residency may be taken up between December 2011 and May 2012 for a block of 4 weeks or for shorter periods of time.


• The residency is self-catering (food not included) and a station wagon is available for local use for shopping trips to Masterton. 24- hour internet and studio access. Resident director, fine library, rural walks.


• Depending on the length of the residency the holder or holders of an Aratoi Fellowship will be asked to give a public presentation (talk, exhibition etc) at Aratoi during or after the completion of their residency. The details of this will be discussed when the residency offer is made.


• Applications will be judged by a panel of committee members of the Friends of Aratoi and the director of New Pacific Studio Inc.
